Fair and Miller Family Foundation Saturday Pep Rally Fireside Chat Featuring Dr. Keisha Reneé Callins

October 10 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm EDT
Virtual Event

Join us for an inspiring and empowering Saturday Pep Rally featuring Dr. Keisha Reneé Callins, a distinguished obstetrician/gynecologist, educator, mentor, and champion for public health and health equity.

For more than 20 years, Dr. Callins has dedicated her career to serving rural and underserved communities in Georgia. She currently practices with Community Health Care Systems, Inc. (CHCS), a Federally Qualified Health Center network in Central Georgia, where she also serves as Chief Wellness Officer.

A respected leader in medicine and education, Dr. Callins is the current president of the Georgia Obstetrical and Gynecological Society and the Middle Georgia Medical Society. She is also a Professor in the Department of Community Medicine at Mercer University School of Medicine, where she has served as a mentor and educator to future healthcare leaders.

Dr. Callins’ journey to medicine is a powerful story of perseverance, resilience, service, and purpose. Originally from Montego Bay, Jamaica, she moved to the United States at age 16 with a dream of becoming a physician. After not being accepted to medical school on her first attempt, she continued pursuing her goal, earning a Master of Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham before successfully earning her Doctor of Medicine from Morehouse School of Medicine. She later served as Chief Resident in her OB-GYN residency program.

Today, Dr. Callins is among the few OB-GYNs regularly serving rural counties in Georgia where women’s health services are limited. Her commitment to expanding access to care and developing the next generation of healthcare leaders has earned her recognition at the state and national levels.

In 2026 alone, her honors include the Georgia Rural Health Practitioner Award, Georgia House of Representatives Recognition for House Bill 1064, the Medical College of Georgia Inaugural FQHC Faculty of the Year Award, and the Georgia Women’s Legislative Caucus/Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award. She is also a member of the current cohort of the AMA Medical Justice in Advocacy Fellowship.
